Timee and Logitec Launch Forklift Skills Enhancement Training – Supporting Workers from License Acquisition to Skills Development and Job Placement, Aiming to Help Alleviate Labour Shortages Linked to the “2024 Logistics Issue” –
Logitec Inc., a member of the CAMCOM Group that addresses social issues related to “work” through its business activities (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Masaomi Kawamura), will launch a “Forklift Operation Skills Enhancement Training” program for workers on the Timee platform (*1) on Monday, October 7, 2024, in collaboration with Timee Inc. (head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Rei Ogawa), provider of the on-demand short-term job service “Timee.”

Background to the “Forklift Operation Skills Enhancement Training”
In the logistics industry, which is currently in the midst of Japan’s “2024 logistics issue,” improving working conditions and securing human resources have become urgent challenges.
To date, Timee has posted job opportunities for light work in logistics warehouses—such as loading and unloading cargo, sorting and inspecting parcels, and picking and packing—and has worked to improve working environments by segmenting and redesigning task assignments. Furthermore, with the aim of contributing even more to alleviating labour shortages in the logistics sector by enabling workers to acquire more specialized skills and qualifications, Timee has been providing support for obtaining forklift operator licenses since June 2023 (*2). Through this initiative, approximately 200 workers had obtained forklift operation qualifications by July 2024.
However, many job postings that involve forklift operations require prior hands-on experience, which has led to a situation where some workers, despite having obtained their forklift qualification, struggle to find opportunities to actually work. To address this issue, Logitec and Timee have decided to launch the “Forklift Operation Skills Enhancement Training” program specifically for workers who hold a forklift license but have limited practical experience.
By improving their skills through real-world operations in logistics warehouses, the program aims to help these qualified workers make full use of their licenses and play an active role in logistics settings.

About the Timee × Logitec “Forklift Operation Skills Enhancement Training”
The “Forklift Operation Skills Enhancement Training” program is a five-day course held at Logitec’s Minami-Funabashi warehouse. Under the guidance and supervision of highly experienced forklift operators, participants operate actual forklifts and gain hands-on experience in tasks such as picking, transshipment, and storage operations. In addition to on-the-job training, Logitec provides training materials and explainer videos, allowing participants to repeatedly cycle through practical exercises and classroom-style study (pre-learning and review) to steadily improve their forklift skills.
Upon completion of the program, participants are introduced—via the Timee platform—to forklift job opportunities at Logitec, enabling them to put their newly honed skills to work in spot assignments. Because this program is offered to workers who have matched with a job posting published by Logitec on Timee, there is no participation fee, and trainees receive compensation for the hours spent in training. As an ongoing initiative, following the first session starting on Monday, October 7, the program is scheduled to be held on a monthly basis.
With the addition of this skills enhancement program to the forklift license acquisition support that Timee has been providing since June 2023, a framework is now in place to support workers throughout the entire process—from obtaining their qualification to upgrading their skills. By enabling spot workers to gain practical on-site experience and make full use of their licenses, the program aims to further expand work opportunities and contribute even more to addressing the serious challenges of securing and developing talent in the logistics industry.

Expectations for This Skills Enhancement Program: Timee
Guided by its mission of “creating social infrastructure that expands life’s possibilities through work,” Timee is committed to providing workers with opportunities to acquire new skills and expand their employment options. As part of these efforts, Timee has been offering support for obtaining forklift operator licenses since last year.
With the addition of this new skills enhancement program, made possible through our collaboration with Logitec, Timee has now built a framework that supports workers throughout the entire process—from acquiring qualifications, to improving practical skills, to matching with job opportunities.
By continuing these initiatives, we aim to create more opportunities for workers to broaden their life choices, while further contributing to alleviating labour shortages in the logistics industry.
Expectations for This Skills Enhancement Program: Logitec
As a logistics company within the CAMCOM Group with particular strength in human resources, Logitec has been working to provide solutions that optimize logistics operations by visualizing and leveraging all available resources across “people,” “goods,” and “space.” As part of these efforts, Logitec has independently conducted its own “Forklift Operation Skills Enhancement Training.”
Now, through collaboration with Timee, we have established an integrated support framework that covers the entire journey—from obtaining a forklift qualification, to upgrading skills, to matching with job opportunities. Through this program, we aim to create more opportunities for workers to enhance their skills and play an active role on site, while also helping to address labour shortages and improve productivity in the logistics industry.
