Countermeasures and Challenges Revealed by a Fact-Finding Survey on the Logistics Industry’s “2024 Problem”

Regarding the “2024 logistics issue” facing the logistics industry, our survey revealed that the level of understanding on the front lines is only around 30%, and fewer than 10% of companies are actually achieving tangible results. Surprisingly, even among listed companies, roughly 30% responded that they have not yet taken any countermeasures.

As a member of the CAMCOM Group, Logitec Inc. regularly conducts on-site surveys to capture the realities behind issues such as labour shortages and the “2024 logistics issue” in the logistics industry. In this second edition of the survey, we focused on the theme of “Current status of and measures against the 2024 logistics issue.”

The main findings of the survey are as follows:

While awareness of the “2024 logistics issue” within the industry is high, understanding of its specific implications remains relatively shallow.

The sector is facing an increasingly evident labour shortage, and in parallel, concerns over rising logistics costs are growing.

Although many companies are focusing on measures such as improving working conditions, enhancing employee benefits, and strengthening recruitment, only a small proportion report that these initiatives are delivering tangible results.
